Data processed on your device
Takuo stores projects, shots, checklists, scripts, reading preferences, original recordings, captioned derivatives, captions, trim settings, and export preferences in private local app storage. Speech following, subtitle generation, sound-level analysis, and supported Apple Intelligence tools use Apple-provided on-device capabilities.
Takuo does not send plans, scripts, microphone audio, recordings, captions, or prompts to a developer-operated AI service.
Camera, microphone, speech, Photos, and Files
- Camera and microphone access are used only for rehearsal and recording features you start.
- Speech recognition is requested only for voice following or captions and is configured for supported on-device recognition.
- Photos access is requested only when you import a clip or save an exported video.
- Imported files are copied into Takuo’s private storage.
Camera video and face data
Takuo does not collect or derive face data. It does not detect, identify, recognize, track, map, or analyze faces, facial geometry, landmarks, expressions, gaze, or biometric identifiers. It creates no face templates or embeddings and provides no eye-contact correction.
Video may naturally contain people. Takuo treats those pixels only as part of the recording you created. Camera frames and videos are not uploaded to the developer, Apple Intelligence, or a third-party AI service.
Apple Intelligence
On supported devices and languages, optional planning and writing tools use Apple’s system language model locally through the Foundation Models framework. Takuo does not transmit the brief, plan, script, prompt, or response to the developer or a third-party AI service. These tools do not process camera video, images, or faces.
Open plans, exports, and sharing
A .takuo.json plan contains planned text only. It contains no video media, private file paths, capture state, timestamps, or purchase information.
Files and videos leave Takuo only when you explicitly export, save, or share them. The destination you choose then handles that copy under its own terms. Takuo has no advertising, tracking, or general-purpose analytics SDK, and its core workflow does not require network access.
Storage and deletion
Projects, scripts, and takes remain on the device until you delete them or uninstall Takuo. Deleting a project or shot keeps associated recordings in Inbox by default. Permanently deleting a take removes its managed original and derivatives. Previously exported copies remain controlled by their destination.
Takuo is a general productivity and creator tool and is not specifically directed to children under 13.
